Verification of UWC certification can now be accomplished online. The online UWC Certification Verification system is free, and UWC certificate holders can use it to quickly and easily download and print an official UWC verification letter for their employers or relevant regulatory agencies.

Employers, state licensure or regulatory agencies, and consumers can also use the UWC Certification Verification system to search UWC’s list of certificate holders and verify the certification of a third party. If needed, a letter can then be printed to confirm the results of the search.

For each online search, please have one (or both) of the following available:

  • Individual’s UWC account number
  • Individual’s first name, last name, city, and state

Verification Letter Requests

Letters verifying current certification can be requested to be mailed to employers, state licensure or regulatory agencies, or individual certificate holders. Verification letters are printed on UWC letterhead, bear the original signature of the UWC staff member responsible for issuing the letter, and contain

  • the name of the certificate holder,
  • his or her UWC account number,
  • the area of certification,
  • the date certification was issued,
  • the valid-through date.

There is no charge for verification letters, mailed within 3 to 5 days of receipt of the request, or for letters, faxed within 48 hours of receipt of the request. To request a verification letter, please provide the UWC account number of the certificate holder, and the address to which the letter should be mailed or the fax number to which the letter should be sent. Requests may be made by either of the following methods:

  • E-mail: info@uwc.edu.gl
  • Phone: Action Center at +1 (626) 692-6949 ,  9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern time (Monday – Friday)

Rush Requests

A charge of $35.00—payable by Discover, VISA, or MasterCard—is assessed for verification letters that must be faxed or sent using overnight delivery within 24 hours of receipt of request. If requesting a rush fax, keep in mind that most licensure boards may not accept faxed verification letters. Please contact your state licensure board to confirm that a faxed letter is acceptable. Letters sent by overnight delivery cannot be sent to a post office box, so a street address must be provided. Requests received after 2:00 p.m. will be filled the morning of the next business day.

To place a rush request, please provide the UWC account number of the certificate holder and the address or fax number to which the letter should be sent. Requests may be made by either of the following methods:

  • E-mail: info@uwc.edu.gl
  • Phone: Action Center at +1 (626) 692-6949 ,  9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern time (Monday – Friday)

Please note that the National Office cannot provide copies of an individual’s documents submitted for certification or information on his or her Praxis examination results used for certification (i.e., date and/or score earned on one or more exams).
