Refunds Policy

The University of Western California (UWC) refund policy applies to tuition and fees for all semesters (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer).

Key Points

  • 100% Refund Period: Full tuition and fees are refundable if withdrawal occurs during the official 100% refund period (see Academic Calendar).

  • After 100% Refund Period Ends: Only tuition is refundable. All fees remain payable by the student.

Refund Processing

  • Refunds are based on the official withdrawal date as listed on the Academic Calendar.

  • Refunds for credit balances are issued as checks.

  • Checks are processed once a week.

  • Please allow 1–2 weeks from the date your credit balance appears in your student account.

Important Reminder

To avoid delays, ensure your postal address is up to date in the Highlander Pipeline system. Incorrect addresses may cause refund checks to be returned.

Would you like me to also create a refund schedule table (e.g., “Withdrawal in Week 1 = 100% refund, Week 2 = 80%,” etc.) so students can easily see refund percentages by date?

Excellent

Here’s a Refund Schedule Table that you can adapt for UWC’s Academic Calendar. This is a common structure most universities use — you can customize the weeks/dates to match your exact policies.

UWC Refund Schedule (Tuition Only After 100% Refund Period)

Withdrawal Date Refund % of Tuition Fees Refund
Week 1 (During official 100% refund period) 100% 100%
Week 2 80%  No refund
Week 3 60%  No refund
Week 4 40%  No refund
Week 5 20%  No refund
Week 6 and beyond  No refund  No refund

Notes:

  • Refunds are based on the official withdrawal date recorded in the Academic Calendar.

  • After the 100% refund period, all mandatory fees are non-refundable.

  • Refunds are issued via check only and processed once weekly.
